I had the Lapband surgery in July of 2008. I had a few health issues like high blood pressure, Sleep Acmia, Reflux, Arthritis, and high cholesterol. One year after surgery I was on no medicine at all, and seven years on, I’m still medicine free. I lost a total of 265 pounds and I feel great. I can do things now that I thought I would never be able to do again, and I encourage everybody to get this surgery that has weight problems.

Having weight loss surgery saved my life. It gave me the tool I needed to get back on track to eating right and exercising. I have my life back so that I can enjoy the time I have with my daughter and family and friends. And most importantly I’ve learned to love myself again and enjoy life.

I weighed 406 pounds and had a 54 inch waist when I started my weight loss journey with the gastric sleeve surgery. I am currently at 253 with a waist of 36”. I went from a 4x shirt to now a 1x. This journey has been a life saver. This surgery has given me the tools to be able to keep up with my life and kids. I used to have serious multiple health problems and now I am 100% healthy with no meds. Doctor Schwab and his staff has been so wonderful to me from the beginning. They treated me like I was family. I would do this surgery all over again if I had to. It was the best decision I have ever made.

For years I battled obesity. The lapband helped me learn how to “eat to live and not live to eat .” I never dreamed I would lose over a 175 pounds, more importantly I never thought it was possible to not be on a diet and maintain a healthy weight. But I did it ! With the help of my doctor, medical staff, and lap band I lost the weight and somewhere in between 309 and 124 I found myself. Stop reading my story and come write your own!

I have struggled with my weight since my early teens, but I never realized how out of control it had gotten until my daughter started school and I saw pictures of myself. That’s when I decided that if I wanted to see her grow up I had to do something! Seven years and 140 lbs later I would recommend to anyone considering bariatric surgery to do it…don’t wait another minute!
